Dating sites are all over the World Wide Web.  Interracial personals are flowing through those sites.  These days people would prefer to meet someone online as opposed to finding someone in person.  Interracial personals are perhaps a bit under scrutiny at times.  Some people believe that an interracial personals site could possibly be offensive or racist to some. Others believe that it is a natural progression due to the fact that the majority of people are multiracial these days. 

Due to the attitudes of today’s youth and years of breaking down racial barriers and generations of open minded individuals, interracial personals sites are now on the rise.  Studies show that dating, marriages and relationships of interracial couples are at an all time high.  With the breaking down of old beliefs and ways the statistics show that interracial marriages have been climbing since the 1970’s.  From 1970 to 1980 interracial marriages went from 310,000 to 651,000 and then to 1,161,00 in 1992.  With the steady acceptance of these relationships, interracial personals sites are no doubt needed.

College students have been recently polled in a study on interracial dating.  Of these students 24% of them said that they have dated interracially before.  Also 49.6% have said that they would be open to dating and becoming involved in an interracial relationship.

 Before the 1960’s interracial dating was illegal in some states in the United States.  These laws started in Maryland in 1661.  The laws on interracial marriages ended with a case from Virginia in 1967.  With the abolishing of such laws, there have been generations of people who don’t even think let alone know about laws against interracial marriages.

Since society has chosen to make personal dating sites the “in” thing, it is only a natural progression that interracial personal sites are as popular as they are.  These sites can be used for something as serious as looking for a partner in life and marriage to finding a new friend to go to the movies with.  An interracial personal site can be used for many, many purposes.

There are many different factors as far as the interracial personal sites are concerned.  There are white women seeking black men, there are black women seeking white men, there are many cultures seeking many other cultures and all may be found on the interracial personal dating sites.  Through these kinds of sites it is easier and time efficient to find the kind of people you are attracted to.  If someone uses other sites like eharmony and match.com and places like that, they must sift though many, many profiles and types of people.  Some of those individuals may not be open to interracial dating and the person searching for someone would just be wasting their time.

By creating interracial personal sites, people are creating a community for themselves.  Human beings like to have others of like mind to speak with and exchange ideas with.  These sites are again not only there for someone to find “true love” but also for expanding their friendships with others.  For someone that is new to interracial dating, finding a friend through these sites can offer them someone with wisdom to explain how to they are feeling, or how their family and friends are reacting to their new  found relationship.  It can give them a new found true love that they may not have been able to find by going to a bar or joining a gym.  Online dating services have become the norm and are no longer frowned upon.  So then why should interracial personals not be the logical next step.
