Interracial dating

Interracial dating.  Just those words alone will stir up many feelings in almost everyone you meet.  Interracial dating.  Sometimes those words will stir up feelings of love and happy emotions and other times it will stir up feelings of hatred and anger in a small percentage of people.  With what ever feelings you feel on the subject you have to admit that it seems that interracial dating is not going away at all.

Today interracial dating is not a big deal to the majority of society.  I do not want to talk about the past and the history of many people and the way that society has looked upon interracial dating interracial marriages for decades.  We all know what it was like and now we have an opportunity to acknowledge the past and thank our ancestors for leading us to the society that we live in today.

If you ask today’s youth about interracial dating you will certainly get a different answer than you would have forty years ago.  That is because the youth of today is lucky enough to be in a society that has learned to accept interracial dating and not scorn those who choose to date outside of their race.  Ultimately we are all of one race…the human race and people see that more than ever before.  With the globalization of our world we see ourselves as one race more and more each and every day.  Interracial dating is just another benefit of that.

Children and young teenagers today do not show many issues with interracial dating.  There have been studies done that show a major percentage of today’s children would have no problem with dating someone of another race.  In fact many of the world’s children today are of multi cultures themselves and therefore have no problems with dating someone of other races.  The percentage of children who are of multi cultures are growing every day and that is due to the fact that interracial dating and interracial marriages are fast becoming more and more popular as the years pass by.

Historically people always think of interracial dating as a black man and a white woman.  Well times have changed and so should the way people think about interracial dating.  Many interracial couples are actually black women and white or Asian men.  This is a very fast growing phenomenon and should be acknowledged as such.  Many black men are dating Asian women also. And many Asian men and Asian women are dating white and black men and women.  At this point in our history there is such a wide variety of mixed cultures that eventually that stupid little option of white, black, Hispanic, Asian, or Native American will finally GO AWAY!!!!  I personally choose to not answer that stupid little check box as often as it can be avoided.  Things like that are what keeps us in our current state and will have us still discussing things like interracial dating instead of just about dating. 

Sooner or later people will understand the fact that we are just one race.  No matter what the color of our skin or the cultures that we are from. Interracial dating will continue to grow and eventually we will be a world where there are no more “race” lines that must be crossed. Or questions about race that must be answered.  Interracial dating and interracial marriages are making that become a reality and sooner or later that time will finally arrive.  So for all those people who are open to interracial dating I say keep on going and share your love with whom ever you would like to.
