| Information and use of non-lethal self defense products. |
| ||
My friend Dr. D recommended to me a few weeks back that I read anything by an author by the name of Daniel Silva. We are both avid readers and pass on recommendations all the time. I had turned him on to an author named Barry Eisler, and also Dennis Lehane. He had given me some other recommendations, and the latest was Daniel Silva.
I picked up Silva's latest, called "Secret Servant." This guy knows how to write a thriller. He is now on my list, and I'm going to order all his books, which is something I do when I find an author that I like. I start with the first book, and go throuigh them in order. I'm guess I'm sort of late to the Silva party, and it looks like I'll be buying seven or eight books. I wish somebody had recommended him earlier. One thing for sure, you wouldn't want to attack any of his good guys, who would just take you out permanently. They have their own code, and the don't countenance anybody who violates it.
Unfortunately for us, we can't do the same thing, but we sure can use a number of non lethal means to get our point across if we find ourselves in a bad situation. Just yesterday I fielded a number of calls from mothers who are concerned about their daughters being away from home for the first time.
There isn't a woman anywhere who should be walking around without at least one self defense product on her at all times. I had to make this point several times at a talk I made recently, but by the end I think I got through to everyone in the audience. Carrying a self defense product does not make you an aggressor.
The fact that you are carrying Wildfire Pepper Spray, (*****), a five star product, does not turn you into a lunatic hell bent on causing anyone in your path pain and misery. But it does mean that if one of these perverted SOB's that are out there crosses your path in an untoward way...they are in a heap of trouble.
Just remember a simple statistic. One of every seven people will be involved in a violent criminal incident at some time in their life. That's 7 to 1 odds, not 100 to 1 or 500 to 1. 7 to 1. Start getting tooled up now, because you never know when this will happen.
And stop listening to these liberal fools who think fighting back is a foolish thing to do. They'll change their mind, but not until they are attacked, or a family member is attacked. I've seen it over and over and over again. Don't make that mistake.
A Wildfire Keychain is a start. Get used to carrying, and feeling good about it, feeling good knowing that you are doing the right thing. Then get your toolkit started.
If you're prepared, you'll never be surprised.
