Now the dealer will deal everyone at the table two cards.  Depending on where you are playing you will either get two cards faced down or you will get one card facing up and one card facing down.  The more popular way is to have one card facing up and one card facing down.  So now you will either choose to get more cards dealt to you, called a “hit” or you will not have any more cards and that is called a “stay”.  If you choose to hit your hand the dealer will give you another card.  So now you will have three cards.  You must add the total up again and as long as you are not over twenty one you will be fine.  If after the dealer hits you with another card you go over twenty one it is called a “bust” and you automatically loose.  If the cards add up to twenty one or under you are still in the game.

Now the dealer must also take some cards or they can stay.  There are many tables that require the dealer to hit when they have seventeen or less.  These tables are good because the dealer has a higher chance of going bust.  If the dealer hits their hand and goes bust then everyone at the table will win if you have not already gone bust yourself. 

Now when you get blackjack which is a face card and an ace or a ten card and an ace you will automatically win.  You will get paid what you bet plus half of what you bet.  This is why blackjack became so very popular years ago.  That was not always the rule but when that rule did start the popularity of blackjack in casinos sky rocketed.

Now let’s talk about the type of bets that you can choose to do when playing roulette.  As said before there are two basic groups of bets that you can make.  There are inside bets and also there are outside bets.  The inside bets will pay out more than an outside bet but they are also harder to hit than an outside bet.  An inside bet has several different types of bets and they are as followed.  There is the straight up bet and that is a single number bet.  That means that you place your bet on a single number and that is it.  Then there is a split bet and that is a bet that is placed on two adjoining numbers on the board.  The street bet is a bet that is placed on three numbers that are on a single horizontal like.  A corner bet or a square bet is a bet that is placed on yes, four numbers in a layout that creates a square.  There is a six line bet and that is a bet that is placed on two streets that are adjoining.  Finally there is the trio bet and that is a bet that is placed on an intersecting spot between the zero, one and two or the zero, two and three spots.

The next type of category of bets would be the outside bets.  These bets are a little easier to win and the odds are more in your favor to win but the payout is not as high as an inside bet.  There is the one to eighteen bet and that is a bet that is place on the first of the eighteen numbers.  Then there is the obvious next choice which is the nineteen to thirty six bet and that would be the next set of numbers up to thirty six.  Then there is the ever popular red or black bet and that seems to be self explanatory as is the odd or even bet.  A dozen bet is a bet on the first twelve numbers, the second twelve numbers or the third set of twelve numbers.  And finally there is the column bet and that is a bet that placed on any one of the three vertical lines on the board.
