When it comes to roulette some people may get a little confused.  There are two types of basic bets.  The different types of bets can be broken down into the inside bet and the outside bet.  Roulette is not at all a hard game to master and once you know the basics of roulette you will find that you will easily be able to play as much as you would like and as much as you can afford.  Because as with any other casino game, roulette is still a game of chance and you can win or lose.

For those people who have absolutely no idea about what kind of game roulette is here you go.  Roulette is a wheel that contains colored numbers and a board that has spots representing those numbers.  The numbers go from one to thirty six and then there are zeros.  On the American roulette board you will find two zeros, there is a spot with a single zero (0) and then there is another spot that has a double zero (00).  These two spots that contain zeros are both green in color.  The other numbers on the roulette wheel are colored with either black or red.  There is also an ivory ball that is tossed onto the wheel and basically when the ball stops on a slot that has a color and a number those people that have bet on that number or color will win the hand.

Now let’s talk about the type of bets that you can choose to do when playing roulette.  As said before there are two basic groups of bets that you can make.  There are inside bets and also there are outside bets.  The inside bets will pay out more than an outside bet but they are also harder to hit than an outside bet.  An inside bet has several different types of bets and they are as followed.  There is the straight up bet and that is a single number bet.  That means that you place your bet on a single number and that is it.  Then there is a split bet and that is a bet that is placed on two adjoining numbers on the board.  The street bet is a bet that is placed on three numbers that are on a single horizontal like.  A corner bet or a square bet is a bet that is placed on yes, four numbers in a layout that creates a square.  There is a six line bet and that is a bet that is placed on two streets that are adjoining.  Finally there is the trio bet and that is a bet that is placed on an intersecting spot between the zero, one and two or the zero, two and three spots.

The next type of category of bets would be the outside bets.  These bets are a little easier to win and the odds are more in your favor to win but the payout is not as high as an inside bet.  There is the one to eighteen bet and that is a bet that is place on the first of the eighteen numbers.  Then there is the obvious next choice which is the nineteen to thirty six bet and that would be the next set of numbers up to thirty six.  Then there is the ever popular red or black bet and that seems to be self explanatory as is the odd or even bet.  A dozen bet is a bet on the first twelve numbers, the second twelve numbers or the third set of twelve numbers.  And finally there is the column bet and that is a bet that placed on any one of the three vertical lines on the board.
