Roulette and its inside and outside bets.

Roulette can be a very exciting game to play.  It is extremely popular in Europe and is all the rage at the casinos in Monte Carlo.  The game or roulette is also very popular in the States but not as much as in Europe.  Roulette has a very long history and has been played for centuries in Europe.  Roulette is a fairly simple game to understand and for those that do not really get how to play roulette you should simply read the rest of this article and you will find the basics of roulette betting broken down so you should have no problems betting and playing roulette the next time you are in a casino.

First you must know that there are two types of bets when it comes to roulette.  There are the inside bets and the outside bets.  Within these two types of bets the inside and the outside there are other types of sub bets.  The inside bets have the following types of bets in its category.  The straight up bet, the split bet, the street bet or the line bet, the corner or the quad bet, the basket bet and the double street bet.  The outside bets also have a number of bets that can be placed and those are the red or black bets, the odds or evens bets, the dozens bets and the columns bets.

The inside bets are the harder of the bets to win but they also pay out the most.  The bet that you can make the most on and pays thirty five to one would be the straight bet.  This is where you place your chips on one single number that you hope will come up.  The split bet is where you pick two touching numbers and place your chips on the line in between the two numbers.  The street bet or the line bet is when you make a bet on the line between the outside and the inside bets and this pays out eleven to one.  The chips straddle the first number in the row.  The corner bet or the quad bet is when you place your chips in the corner of four numbers.  The basket bet is when you bet on five numbers zero, one, two, three, double zero.  This bet has the worst odds for the player and only if you are really confident should this bet be made.  The double street line bet is just like the line bet but you also let the chips straddle the row above or below the separating line.

Now the outside bets are a lot more fun.  They may not pay out as much but they are good to start with.  The odds or evens bet are easy to understand.  Place your bet on whether the ball will land on an odds or evens spot.  The red or the black is the same type of bet.  The dozens bet is when you choose twelve numbers at a time.  Basically you can choose either one through twelve, thirteen through twenty four, or twenty five through thirty six.  Those are the choices and if the ball lands on zero or double zero you will lose the hand.  The column bets are the last of the bets we have and they are when you pick a vertical column to win.  The outside bets may not be as much fun to win or they may not be the best payouts but to begin your roulette playing career I highly suggest starting to play with them.  Inside bets can be played later on when you have established your bank roll.
