Vintage Cars2008-Feb-4

When someone thinks of the term vintage car we automatically think of cars from eras of a time long ago passed.  Although most of us truly admire vintage cars we all can not really afford to have these amazing vintage cars we can only admire the ones that other people have and dream about having one of our own.

Vintage cars invoke an image of driving on long country roads on a spring afternoon, of the wind blowing past us as we drive our vintage cars and listen to a great song on the radio.  There are all kinds of images one will see when they think of vintage cars and each person will have a different type of image and a different type of vintage car in their thoughts.  No two images will ever be the same.

For those people who are lucky enough to have their own vintage car it is a whole life style for them.  Usually these cars are not driven around too much as they will be likely damaged in some way or another. Whether it is just a normal kind of wear and tear on the car or if the car some how got into an accident, either way there is always some kind of damage done if you use the vintage car in an every day capacity.  So most vintage car owners only drive the vehicle once in awhile.  Some people never drive their vintage cars and only keep them put safely in a garage or a storage unit some where.  Well that is all fine and good but most people would agree that there really is not fun in that at all.  Of course if your vintage car is worth a small fortune then perhaps it is wise that you do keep it some where like a garage. But most every day people will not have a vintage car of that magnitude.

A vintage car that does not get out once and awhile and stretch her legs has a sadness about her.  A vintage car must get out now and again and most vintage car owners know this.  Again they are not in any way driving these vintage cars back and forth to work every day or even going to the super market in the vintage car but they do take her out for a little bit every now and again.  There are even vintage car owners that will travel to take their vintage car to a car show where they can show their prized possession off to other people who enjoy vintage cars.  When there is a car show of some kind the owner of the vintage cars do not typically drive their vehicles to the show.  Especially if the car show is a good distance away from where they live, which is usually the case.  When the vintage car show is a good ways from where the vintage car lives then the owner will usually tow the vintage car as to save it from being on the road for a long distance.  Again this kind of driving will likely cause some kind of damage to the vintage car and the owners usually do not want to risk any thing like that.

Once at the vintage car show many vintage cars can be seen.  There are not only vintage car owners that go to these shows but also vintage car enthusiasts.  There are typically a lot of people at these vintage car shows and that means that there will be a lot of people that will want to talk about your car.  Vintage car shows can be both exhilarating and exhausting at the same time but most vintage car owners just love going to them.
