For any one who has to go through a divorce they know that it is not always the most pleansant experience to go through.  Many times when a divorce occurs there are bad feelings towards one spouse from the other and a divorce lawyer may need to be hired to handle the divorce.  There are other times though when a divorce is not a big argument and both parties are actually quite amicable towards each other.  In a divorce situation like this it is sometimes helpful for the couple to do a do it yourself divorce.

And also neither spouse may be in the military.   That is because a military divorce has its own rules and a lawyer that specializes in military divorce should be contacted.  However if all of the other requirements are met then it is very possible that a do it yourself divorce will be able to be the kind of divorce that you and your spouse can get. 

Basically if you and your spouse have no issues to fight over and there are not any children involved and you can both agree on everything a lawyer is not really needed at all.  And if that is the case then a do it yourself divorce is right for you.  You must remember though that a do it yourself divorce will cost you more in time because you will be the one handling everything.  But you will be saving a ton of money by not having to hire an attorney.  In a do it yourself divorce you and your spouse will be working with the county clerk and dealing with them directly and not through an attorney.  You will need to make sure that you are always prepared and always have the necessary paperwork that must be filed.  The county clerk is not there to hold anyone’s hand through a divorce but they will answer a few questions now and again, well usually they will.  Sometimes county clerks and even judges do not really care for do it yourself divorces and it may take up a lot of their time.  So before proceeding with the do it yourself divorce you should check on the county clerk and the judge’s views on the matter.

Once you have all the necessary paper work filed it should not take very long for the divorce to go through.  A do it yourself divorce is a wonderful way to end a marriage and if it can be done with no animosity towards each other then it should be done that way.  A do it yourself divorce will really allow everyone to still be friends in the end.
