Stop The Embarrassment of Having A Criminal Record
- Posted at 08:11 on 2008-Jul-15 by Duncan Carver Having a criminal record is one of the hardest things to deal with on a daily basis, it will prevent you from moving forward and improving your life. So you made a mistake, but you are a good person who has learned from that mistake. There is no reason why you will need to pay for that mistake for many years to come and they have a horrible way of preventing you from landing that good job with a top salary. Think about this, I know it’s not something that you might agree with especially since you are the one who I am going to be talking about. But look at this from an employer’s point of view about hiring someone with a criminal record. It’s a liability. Hiring a person that has a criminal record can potentially be putting their business at risk, and that would mess with their lively hood. Would you want to subject yourself to that type of situation if you were in their shoes, probably not? This doesn’t make you a horrible person it just makes you a risk for them, and this is the exact reason why you need to figure out a way to get your record sealed. There is something called expungement. In order to get your criminal record expunged you will need to fill certain requirements. Each state will have different requirements to be eligible, but for the most part they are all the same in the way that you will have to have a great amount of time since your offense. This will show the courts that you made a mistake and that you have changed since that time. This is just one of the requirements that you will need to meet. Making a poor decision in your past shouldn’t haunt you for your entire life, but it will if you do not work on getting your record sealed and preventing anyone from seeing it. You deserve your chance to land that top job with a great salary to improve your life greatly. What you don’t deserve is to be punished for something that you did when you were young and dumb, or basically just making a poor judgment. You can find many lawyers online that will help you to get your criminal record expunged. The only way for you to know if you will qualify or to find out what you can do to work on becoming eligible to get your record expunged is by talking with a lawyer who specializes in this. They are easy to find online with minimal searching. Getting your record sealed will allow you the chances that you rightly deserve. No one will be able to see what it is on your record except for the courts. The only way for your record to be reopened is if you were to commit another crime. And I don’t believe that this is something that you would do after all of this time that you have suffered having a criminal record. This is your chance to improve your life, and it might cost you a little bit of money but it will be worth having your life back in your own control rather than in the control of the criminal record itself. |
