You also want to feel out the owner of the home.  You want to make sure that there is trust from them and for them.  But most of the time the owners are very nice and easy to work with.  For those homes that have agencies that run them for owners you will want to perhaps get some references from people about the company that is running the house.  Also make sure that they are willing to communicate with you and also to ask plenty of questions.
