Blackjack is the most popular gambling game to play in the entire world.  Whether you call it blackjack or twenty one you are still playing the same game.  And this game is loved by many people.  Blackjack is the only gambling game that you actually have an advantage over the house and that may be why it is so very popular.

 

Blackjack has been played in one form or another for many, many years.  "Blackjack" itself did not become popular until the game began to be played in the early casinos of Nevada.  Even then the game did not quite catch on and so some of the rules where amended.  One of those rules was that getting a number of twenty one that was had by a ten card and a black jack card would pay out more to the player.  This became quiet popular and gamblers started to play the game more.  Blackjack then grew into the game that it has become today.

 

You can not enter a casino anywhere and not find a ton of blackjack tables on the floor.  Blackjack tables will always have the most tables because it is the most popular game to play.  You may find a few poker tables and a few roulette and craps tables along with a few other games but the floor is just lined with blackjack tables.  When you walk through a casino the main floor will always have an alley of blackjack tables and a few other games surrounding those.  For those people that love to play the game of blackjack it is a glorious sight to see.

 

For those of us that enjoy playing the game and that have played blackjack many, many times before there is not much for us to learn about the game but we are always happy to share our knowledge of the game with beginning blackjack players.  It is a very simple concept.  Basically you need to have the cards that you are dealt add up to twenty one with out going over that number.  Also your cards must beat the dealers.  For example if you are dealt two cards and they add up to nineteen you would stay with those cards and not take anymore cards that hand.  Staying with the cards you have is called "staying" and taking more cards in that hand would be called "hitting".  If you have nineteen the dealer must have a twenty or a twenty one to beat you so that is a very good hand.  If the dealer also has a nineteen they can stay with that and you would have what is called a "push".  That is where you tie with the dealer and do not loose any money, but do not win any money.

 

That is the basic of blackjack.  You are not playing against any of the other players at the table and you are only trying to beat the dealer.  Since that is going on and there is no competition between players you tend to talk a lot to each other and watch each other play.  It is really a very exciting game and when you are playing people want to talk with you.  If you are new to the game do not worry about not knowing too much.  Many of the players will help you to learn the game really fast.  They will give you advice on what you should do if you are not sure.  Blackjack is not only a game that the odds are winning are very high but it is also a game where people can make friendships for however long or short they may be you and another person can bond while playing and winning money.
