With the holiday season fast approaching many are thinking what would be an appropriate holiday gift for business associates or family members or even neighbors or the kids’ school teacher. A holiday gift basket would be the answer. A holiday gift basket could contain a number of things for anyone to use or have.

First you need to decide a few things. One of those things would be who you are going to give these to. Also how much money you want to spend on them. The last thing you should think about would be if you are going to make the holiday gift baskets or purchase them.

If you are going to purchase these holiday gift baskets for say your co-workers then getting some baskets with nuts and crackers and cheese is a fine idea. Perhaps finding some with chocolates or toffees would be a great idea for your office. Buying a holiday gift basket that is filled with gourmet coffee and cookies would appeal to many at the holiday time. You just need to decide what kind of baskets and how many people you are going to send them to. Buying holiday gift baskets are a great idea but can get a little pricy if you are planning on sending them to many people. But still, if this is the route you are going to take the internet has many wonderful sites to choose from. Depending on what you are going to get in the basket the price could range anywhere from $65 up to over $250.

The other way to go would be to make these baskets. Now you really do not need too much talent for this project so those who fear crafting should not fret. The craftier you are though the more things you could do to the basket to enhance it. First you again must decide how many people you are going to send these to. This project is extremely economical and works well when you are going to send them to many people. You need to get some kind of basket. You could go to a dollar store and purchase several baskets for just a few dollars each. You may also decide to use something else as your basket. A holiday colored or themed bowl or gift box may work nicely.

To fill the basket you will need a theme. Are you going to do candies and coffees or cookies or cute little holiday gifts that you made. Filling a mason jar with hot chocolate mix and marshmallows and then seal it shut is a great addition to a holiday basket. Or some peppermint sticks and cinnamon sticks with some coffee and a few coffee cups is another idea you may use. The ideas really are endless. The more personal you are with the recipients of the holiday gift baskets the more personal you can make them. It really all depends on what you would like to do. Holiday gift baskets are a very thoughtful gift during the holidays. They may be decorated accordingly for the holidays with beautiful fabric and colored ribbons when finished. These gift baskets may be given to anyone from you siblings to a teacher to a business associate. The themes are as open as your mind can be. Just remember that if you are sending these holiday gift baskets to more than just a few people and you are not made entirely out of money than making these baskets yourself would be a better way to approach the idea. Or perhaps even buying a few pre-made baskets for certain people and then making others. Either way anyone receiving one will be happily surprised by it.
