One of the most popular items that new moms receive at their baby shower would have to be a baby gift cake. These baby gift cakes are just one of the most wonderful items to give to a new mom because they typically are full of all of the useful items that a new mom and dad will need to use for their new baby. Baby gift cakes are very easy to make and if you are not at all gifted in any types of crafting then you can simply purchase one to give to a new mom for their baby shower or just when the baby is born.

So you can get a cake that is a three tier cake or you can get a very large baby gift cake that is made with five or six tiers. Some people prefer to have all the layers of the baby gift cake made from the same size diaper but then there are other people who would prefer to have the baby gift cake made from several different sizes of diapers. If you are making the baby gift cake and you would prefer to use more than one size of baby diaper please remember to put the larger size diapers on the bottom.
When you decide to make a baby gift cake it is really quite simple for those that have the time and the patience to do so. You will need several things to start off the project with. First of all you will of course need the appropriate number and sizes of baby diapers, this is like your cake batter and very important. You will also need to get yourself some sturdy cardboard. Some pretty ribbon will be needed and then all of the decorations that you would like to use. Now you will need to find many different items to put on your baby gift cake. Some of the items may include baby bottles, baby pacifiers, baby shampoos and soaps, baby towels or wash cloths, some receiving blankets and many baby toys. You of course can add any other items that you think the new parents will like to have and that they will need.
You will start building your baby gift cake by using the card board as a base. When building the cake you can either wrap each individual diaper with a ribbon or you can simply wrap the entire tier with the ribbon, it really just depends on your own tastes and what you want to do with the baby gift cake. After you roll the diapers and secure them to the cardboard you will do the same thing for each tier of your baby gift cake. You will do this as many times as you want for as many tiers of the baby gift cake that there are. When you are finished “making” the baby gift cake you will want to decorate it. By taking all of the items that you have for the new baby you will just simply place them throughout the cake and secure them to the diapers. You can stuff the baby items in the diapers and have them partially showing or you can secure them to the cake with ribbons and other things.
