Extensive Amazonian Jungle Preservation Proposal by Correa, Ecuadorian President

Brian O'Leary, Ph. D. is working with the Ministry of Energy in Ecuador to get the word out of the possibility of saving Yasuni from the ravages of oil industry.  Ecuador's new President, Rafael Correa,  has announced that the government would keep the oil in the ground under one of the most precious and extensive Amazonian jungles on Earth if the international community could come up with matching contributions.
This is really amazing in my opinion.  Correa says in his proposal that Ecuador would match funds with the contributing international community keeping the oil in the ground and preserving the ecosystem for all time.  It would be under the aegis of a trust fund in partnership with the people and government of Ecuador.

When I read about this in Dr. O'leary's site, I wanted to share it.   It deeply touched my heart.  And consider what a gesture this is, from a  poor country, with the potential sacrifice of their short-term revenues. Their willingness to do such a thing to save a significant rainforest is truly an unprecedented step by a government.  Don't you see what an opportunity this provides for all of us to team up and set an example across the whole earth.

Bottled Water vs Water Filters for the Environment?

When we consider the need for clean water many of us use bottled water as opposed to using Water Filters vs Bottled Water for Environment.  What is interesting to note is bottled water is terrible for the environment because of the huge amount of plastic bottles that are not recycled.

I know it's hard to not buy bottled water when you are out on the road for example, but it would do many of us a lot of good to understand what's  in the bottled water we drink.  There is very little regulation for it and that's just not the case for water filters.  Here is a short video which tells the story in about 5 minutes.

This green environmental sustainability authority blog is created to share with the Earth community and to allow them to share with each other.  I plan to bring you the best of the best of the ecological world and to promote those both persons and organizations, for profit or not for profit that have and continue to work towards a sustainable future.  I am not a doom-sayer.  I feel optimistic that the same Force that now supports life on Earth and the whole universe and universes won't be outsmarted by humans.

All comments will be moderated.  If you wish to post your articles or even have your own category on this blog, leave me a message in the comments, and we can discuss it.

I will also be exploring New Energy with many great essays from Brian Oleary, founder of the New Energy Movement.  I will be introducing selfless pioneers such as Brian, already mentioned, John Seed, Rainforest Activist and others.

I plan to actively promote this blog to the social bookmarking services.
