Health and nutrition are two very important things and they go hand in hand. It is hard to be healthy when you are not getting the nutrition that your body needs. Most people do not eat in a healthy way at all and most of those people just do not have time in their days to find the healthy foods their body needs to have.
There are some amazing facts about health and nutrition. 61% of the USA population is over weight. The UK is the fat capital of Europe. In general 50% of adults are over weight with 21% of women being obese and 17% of men being obese. These are some serious statistics.
Many people have diets that are not the healthiest. Most diets consist of an excess of things like sugar, salt, fat, artificial colors and preservatives, and chemicals. There is also a large amount of people that add alcohol and tobacco to their system daily. The majority of people are lacking in many things. Protein and vegetable protein, vitamins and minerals, fibers, and even enough water are missing in the average person’s diet. These things are necessary for our bodies to run smoothly. Even water is important and people do not realize that drinking any substance does not qualify as drinking water. Water brings oxygen to our bodies and gives us what we need to survive. Drinking two bottles of soda and a case of beer does not in any way compare with drinking 8 to 10 glasses of water a day.
As a people we have learned to abuse our bodies by adding things to it that is not good for the human body. We add things that the body does not need and we deprive it of the things that is desperately needs. Is it any wonder that obesity has become a serious health problem for many people?
One way to solve the issues that we create for our bodies would be to use supplements. Many people take vitamins daily and that is a great start. But there are many other things that our bodies are crying out for and we are just not listening. We have found it easier to stop off on the way home from work to pick up some kind of fast food for dinner instead of taking the half hour it would take to make something for the family dinner in the kitchen.
