The Balmoral Hotel, Edinburgh

The Balmoral Hotel offers 188 opulent suites and stylish bedrooms with views towards Edinburgh Castle, the Old Town, or the hotel's beautiful internal courtyard. All of the bedrooms were fully refurbished in the hotel's recent £7 million refurbishment programme.  Each of the hotel’s bedrooms has its own character borrowed from the hotels Scottish heritage, which offers a true refuge in which to relax or escape.  The luxurious soft furnishings in the bedrooms have the earthy colours of the countryside that one associates with Scotland. Natural fabrics have been used throughout: linens, silks, wools and leather. The artwork has been selected to reflect Scottish themes and includes artists such as Donald Campbell and his Bluebird and a Circular Tour of the Highlands by Richard Long. Even the throws, on the end of every bed, are exclusively designed for The Balmoral by Johnston's of Elgin.

The refurbishment also incorporated Hadrian's Brasserie, Number One Restaurant and the hotel lobby. When it comes to fine-dining, the restaurants at The Balmoral specialize in attentive but non-intrusive service.  Guests can choose from the hotels Michelin-starred Number One Restaurant which offers outstanding cuisine provided by Chef Jeff Bland; Hadrian's Brasserie which offers chic and informal dining or the Palm Court for cocktails or afternoon tea and NB's Bar for a relaxing drink.

For the ultimate in relaxation, the Balmoral Spa is an exclusive retreat in the heart of the city. Why not enjoy all the facilities that the hotel Spa has to offer – experience an ESPA body treatment, the Finnish sauna and Turkish steam room, the 15-metre crystal-clear pool, the air-conditioned fully equipped cardiovascular gym and exercise room.  Wind down your spa experience by experiencing the Relaxation Suite. Lie back and relax on one of the luxurious loungers, and succumb to the sensuous scents and sounds, or simply flick through your favourite magazine.
