Located in a former Greek Orthodox Church, the Malmaison Glasgow contains many original features - the huge vaulted ceiling, the crypt-come-bar and brasserie and the exterior facade are all telling signs of the hotel’s religious origins. Head into the hotel reception area and you will notice a beautiful iron sculpted staircase that leads guests up to the first floor. Look carefully and you will notice it depicts a scene of one weary traveller and his entourage journeying perhaps up to heaven. The Glasgow Malmaison has 72 spacious bedrooms – all are individually designed in a classic contemporary style with strong, bold, regal reds, purples and golds with sumptuous fabrics and furnishings. There are the eight suites, some of which are split-level mezzanines with sunlight streaming through the huge angled windows. All of the hotel bedrooms have the complete set of Mal extras - great beds, mood lighting, power showers, CD players and libraries, satellite TV and wines and nibbles in the mini-bar. Other luxuries include complementary fast internet, same-day laundry, toiletries that you’re encouraged to take with you and essential room service for breakfast and dinner. The hotel Brasserie in the vaulted basement is full with charm. If you're eating and drinking in Glasgow it has to be the Mal. The Brasserie serves it’s guests with beautifully presented cuisine prepared with tasty local ingredients. You simply have to sample Glasgow's finest from the Homegrown & Local menu. A Repunzel-like metal staircase takes you down to the bar also located in the vaulted basement. The bar is perfect for intimate meetings - moody and dark with a brilliant shaft of light shining down from a skylight that runs the length of the bar. Wooden tables with chess board tops fill the popular ‘Veuve Cliquot' Champagne bar which serves signature cocktails and an all day light menu. Other Malmaison Hotels include the Malmaison London, Birmingham, Leeds, Reading and Oxford. { Last Page } { Page 462 of 496 } { Next Page } |
