The operators of Hong Kong's cable car system on Lantau are hoping to be able to sell tickets again before Christmas. Morris Cheung Siu-wa, who is the MD of Ngong Ping 360 – the cable car operator, said the entire system, which was shut down in June, has been tested. The system has now been checked by Leitner under both normal operating conditions and a dummy load test in which water containers weighing 1.5 tonnes were placed inside the cars. Test reports will be submitted in two weeks to Hong Kong's Electrical and Mechanical Services Department for review. The cable car system was shut down in June after an empty cable car plunged to the ground. Hotels in Hong Kong include: The Conrad Hong Kong, The Grand Hyatt Hong Kong, Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong { Last Page } { Page 347 of 496 } { Next Page } |
