The Ritz, London - William Kent House

2:09 PM, Friday 15 February 2008 .. Posted in London Hotels .. Link

The Ritz is a London legend, attracting the great and the good since opening in 1906. In late 2006, following the celebrations of the Centenary year, The Ritz opened William Kent House, an eighteenth century town house situated at No 22 Arlington Street adjoining the hotel.

In addition to the five banquet rooms which are available for private functions, three sumptuous residential suites have also been created on the upper floors of the house. Work on the interiors of the 3 suites – The Royal, The Prince of Wales and The Arlington – was carried out by the hotels in-house interior design team and are in keeping with the guidelines set down by British Heritage.

The Royal Suite is a one bedroom split level duplex and is accessed from the first floor of the house.  It incorporates a magnificent drawing room with vaulted gilded ceiling, leading to a formal dining room with seating for up to 10 people at the mahogany table. However, the most unique feature of the Royal Suite is the hidden staircase leading to the oval bedroom.

The Prince of Wales Suite is a spacious and luxurious penthouse enjoying outstanding views from the reception rooms over Green Park towards Buckingham Palace. The suite has its own entrance hall and butler’s kitchen, two inter-connecting bedrooms are decorated in delicate pastel upholstery, each with marble bathrooms and walk in wardrobes.

The Ritz Hotel is the most famous of London hotels.  View rates and availability on-line.

The Ritz Butler is available 24 hours a day to guests staying at William Kent House and guests can expect the same excellent service and be assured that privacy and security is protected at all times. The traditional and decorative features of the suites have been combined to include the most modern technological facilities such as Broadband hi speed internet access, USA and UK modems and facsimile points, CD and DVD players flat screen TVs and cordless phones.
