Kansas City restaurants are infamous for diversity.  There are many kinds of restaurants in Kansas City.  All you need to do is walk down a street and find pretty much all you want.  There are many ethnic food restaurants such as Italian, Mexican, or Chinese.  These are all wonderful choices.  There are also many steak houses or BBQ places to go to and try.  It really depends on your taste at the moment. 

There are different districts in Kansas City.  The restaurants all vary depending on where you are in the city.  The downtown or the convention center area of town will have again a wide variety to choose from.  There is Arthur Bryant’s BBQ.  You just can’t get away from BBQ in Kansas City.  There are bistros and café galore in that district.  There are also the areas of town like Crown Center or Country Club Plaza. Here you can find Benton’s Steak & Chop House.   Crown Center is mostly a retail and commercial district.  It is referred to as the retail/restaurant center. There are also many fine taverns here.

Finding ethnic food in the Northeast area of Columbus Park is pretty easy.  This area is historically an Italian-American part of town.  Some very fine home made Italian food can be found here.  For the taste of grandma’s sauce you may want to look around this area.  The area has recently more recently found Vietnamese and Southeast Asia immigrants flocking here.  Again there is some very tasty food to be found here. 

Kansas City is famous though for their BBQ.  Many restaurants throughout Kansas City boast their BBQ is the best.  There are over 100 BBQ restaurants in Kansas City spread throughout the city.  That gives you a wide variety of choices to where you can get your BBQ.  Many restaurants boast old home made recipes that will give “their” BBQ the best flavor.  If you have the time (and the stomach) you just may have to travel to each spot and see for yourself who has the best BBQ.

BBQ has indeed made Kansas City restaurants famous.  It has been a food that everyone loves.  While many people BBQ in their own homes and throw some great parties with some great food, not everyone has the same skill at grilling food as others.  That is when you find your BBQ restaurants calling to you.  There have been some BBQ restaurants in Kansas City that have started as small town places.  They have grown into nation wide franchises.  And as they have grown they have brought the Kansas City taste to a whole nation.
