Many people do not know of all the Kansas City entertainment there is to be found in this amazing city.  Kansas City is a place where entertainment is everywhere you go.  Not only are there sites to see that every tourist must see but there are tons of things to do in Kansas City when visiting or even if you are a local.  From eating at your choice of the many restaurants that are located in Kansas City to checking out a local band in one of the bar and grilles, entertainment in Kansas City is all over.

One of the best things to do in Kansas City to entertain yourself is to shop.  That is right shop.  There are plenty of places to shop in Kansas City.  There are actually areas or districts of the city that are basically designed around the shopping in the area.  One of these districts would have to be the very popular Country Club Plaza or the Plaza as it is known.  The Plaza offers many stores and shops to visit while you stroll in this neighborhood shopping plaza.  The Plaza is a fourteen block area of stores and homes all mingled together.  An amazing thing to see while in this district would have to be all the water fountains that are on almost every corner in the area.  Kansas City is known as the “city of fountains” and the Plaza is home to the majority of these water fountains.  The Plaza is one of the oldest shopping centers in the nation.  In the year 1997 the Plaza celebrated its 75th anniversary.  This district has a beautiful light display it does starting around November and going all the way through to the end of January.  So while you are in the Plaza you can shop and also see many wonderful sites at the same time.

If you are not really into shopping then perhaps you may want to entertain your self or family by going to see a sports game.  Kansas City is home to several sports teams.  The Kansas City Chiefs are the local football team and you can see them play at the Arrowhead stadium if you are there during football season.  Arrowhead Stadium is the third largest stadium in the NFL.  It also plays home to the Kansas City Wizards.  The Wizards are a professional soccer team that plays in the city.  They are always exciting to watch and their following is quickly growing.  If you happen to be in Kansas City during baseball season, why not catch a Royals game.  To watch a baseball game it would costs as little as $8 for a ticket.  That is a great and inexpensive way to spend the day with the family and friends or just yourself.

There are plenty of amusement parks in the city also.  Worlds of Fun and Oceans of Fun are both very popular in the Kansas City area and a great way to beat the heat during the summer.  Oceans of Fun offer some fantastic rides.  The Hurricane Falls is a 72 foot super slide that is very exciting.   The park also has a water funhouse with sprays and rope bridges for the whole family to play on called Paradise Falls.  A World of Fun offers a 205 foot high roller coaster that is made to scare even the best of roller coaster enthusiasts. 

For entertaining yourself during the down time perhaps you may want to see a movie in the Majestic Movie Theatre.  The Majestic is the movie theatre that plays new movies and classics all in the same place.  There are also many places to go see live music in Kansas City and some great places to enjoy most any kind of food you would like.  Kansas City is over flowing with things to entertain you and your family either on vacation or if you are a local.
