San Diego- An Inside Look at a Tourist Favorite

The second largest city in California maintains many captivating attributes.  With its perfect weather, clear blue skies and over 70 miles of some of the World’s most enchanting beaches, San Diego is an ideal choice for one of journeyPod’s top tourist destinations.  It also allows easy access to popular tourist sites such as Mexico, the Pacific Ocean, the Anza-Borrego Desert and the Laguna Mountains.

Whether you’re looking for a cool, relaxing “hang out” beach like the Pacific Beach, a revolutionary spot like Downtown Gaslamp Quarter, something a bit more glamorous beach such as La Jolla, or just a casual atmosphere found in the Mission Beach district, you’ll definitely find it here – in San Diego!

Hotels

Tower 23This hotel is a must if you’re seeking oceanfront views, trendy yet modest design and décor, and an absolutely beautiful Zen garden. Standard features for all rooms included handcrafted furnishing, hi-definition televisions, signature beds with memory foam mattresses, Egyptian cotton linens, down bedding, luxurious bathrobes and mini-bars. If you’re looking to upgrade Tower 23 suites offer rooms with balconies and private cabana patios to floating whirlpool tubs.

Rancho Bernardo Inn – We at journeyPod understand that not all of our loyal subscribers are into that chic, trendy style. For you guys, we have found a more traditional almost Tuscan-like property that can stand up to any of the billion dollar properties that you see in major cities across the U.S.  With amazing gardens, fountains, and a heated swimming pool we couldn’t ask for anything more-well, that’s until they gave it to us! The Spa has what they refer to as a “Made-To-Order Body Polish” which is 90-minute experience that’s both peaceful and refreshing.

Restaurants

LaVache – Whoever said you couldn’t find great French food near the beach? LaVache serves everything from breakfast to dinner.  It’s especially known for its fresh seafood entrees and scrumptious French sauces. The menu features some of the best French food in the city.

Quarter Kitchen – Caviar Tacos, Crab Ravioli, Lobster Risotto, and Kobe Carpaccio-do we really need to say anything else? Executive Chef Damon Gordon fuses together his style of Continental and Japanese food and he does it in an excellent way.

Nightlife

Envy – Perfect club for adult fun and nightlife-plush with velvet sofa beds and dirty martinis. This place is a must see for newcomers to the San Diego area. Get ready for a night of dancing and drinking heavily. Don’t worry about driving to your hotel because the Luxury Ivy Hotel is only a few steps away.
