Make Money Online Part 4

Need Traffic? Do you have a product or affiliate product you are trying to market? There are several ways to reliably drive traffic to where visitors have the opportunity to purchase what you are marketing. The easiest is pay per click advertising that is offered by search engines. Since Google has the lion’s share of the search engine market at this point, their pay per click advertising is a great place to start.

For those of you who might not know what pay per click advertising is, Google’s ads are for sale in their AdWords program. You can go to their site and sign up for an account. They have tutorials to get your started and I’ll post again specifically about AdWords tips. Anyway, you can pay for each click a user makes to get to your site when they search for your keywords. If you are selling ribbons, you may have put up your site and no one showed up to buy. You need to find a way to get some traffic to your site that is looking for what you are selling!

Google shows the AdWords on each search that are targeted for the search keywords. To help your customers find you, create an ad and list out for Google your targeted keywords.

Tip 4: It’s important to control the costs of your ad campaign. You are paying by the click so it can add up fast and if your conversion rate is not high, you have to make sure you are pricing the clicks to be a reasonable cost.

Google will give you a price for each keyword and you pay for the click based on that particular price. I try to not ‘bid’ high because being the top of the list doesn’t really help you much. Look for words that go with your product, the longer phrases will often bring customers at less per click than the single word ‘ribbons’ for instance. ‘Hair ribbons,’ ‘gift wrapping ribbons,’ ‘military ribbons,’ etc will bring different types of traffic, so include the specifics related to what you are selling. Start your bids per keyword at 5 cents a click and go up slightly from there. I try not to pay more than 10 cents a click when I’m just starting out, even if I have to leave off some keywords. And set a daily maximum of what you can spend on this kind of advertising. Just divide your monthly budget by 30 and put that as your daily maximum. Google will show your ad up to that cost then stop for the day. There are lots of ways to adjust your campaign for maximum results, but this should get your started.

Your ads will show on Google searches BUT, they will also show on sites that have content about your keywords, so if someone had a site about hobbies that required ribbons, your ad would show on their content site if they were signed up with Google.

Make Money Online Part 3

Let's face it, none of us are going to be the kids who sold YouTube or iStockphoto for millions. I'm an ordinary person, the tortoise, not the hare. But I know that story, so I'm not sad! Tortoises do OK, even great. I've grazed my way through the Internet marketing methods and found a way for us ordinary folks to build an online business that will give me the magic brass ring of passive income. The amount of passive income is only limited by how big a business I want to build.

Do you know what AdSense is? All those Google ads are paid advertising. Someone is paying Google by the click and Google needs RELEVANT places to show those ads. I'm building content sites that provide information as well as give Google a targeted audience for their ads. This is a win-win!

Google will let me set up an account and put their ads on my websites. When someone clicks on those ads, Google gets paid and so do I. So all I need to do now is create RELEVANT places for the ads. There is a bit of an art to doing this right. You need to find the niches that get you found, you need a legitimate linking strategy that is not a 'link farm," you need to write or have articles written and you need a way to get this all onto the Internet. I know, you just saw a bunch of reasons you think you can't do this one, but what if I told you there is a turnkey way to do it?

Tip 3: This tip should be tip 3, 4, 5 and 6; it's that good and it solves all the problems you thought you had. I joined a membership site called Super Apprentice. In just a few months, I have 30 content sites built that are already earning me passive income. For a monthly membership fee, I have access to a total solution with niches, writers trained to the method (writers paid separately), a GUI that does all the web posting for me (no web skills necessary), linking, linking and linking applied by several proven methods.......... AND forums and advice as needed by people I have grown to trust and like. This is where I've chosen to put my efforts and this tortoise is happily proceeding to the winners circle.

Making Money Online Part 2

Posted in Unspecified

I've already told you my passion for researching making money online. Tip 1 was about needing a list. Internet marketers live and die by their lists. They whisper in awe at the size of some people's lists....... well, once again, it's not the size that matters. Why is that? Because you can use affiliate marketing! Maybe you think that's a bad idea, that you are giving too much away, but you will get more than you give. Actually, there are two ways to benefit from affiliate marketing, one is as the person selling the product and the other is as the affiliate.

Tip 2: If you are just starting out as a Internet marketer and just learning to make money online, you can go to clickbank or commission junction and sign up. Sort through the products and find something you can believe in and sell. Create an affiliate account on that product and start marketing it. You will earn a percentage of each sale. Great for the affiliates, right? But also great for the person with the product because your sales are going to skyrocket when you have others doing more marketing then you can do yourself. Everybody wins and it's a great place to start. I still am getting residual income from my first affiliate product, it's just $100/month at this point, but it was a great beginning.

How to Make Money Online Part 1

Posted in Unspecified

Over the next few days I will be posting 3 easy tips on how to make money online. These tips were given to me by on of my Super Apprentice members, Kristi.

Researching how to make money online has been an obsession of mine. I regularly meet with a friend of likewise obsession to talk the latest tips. I'm sure you can see why I would be interested in the golden fleece of passive income while I'm mortgaging all my time to an 8-5 job. One thing I'm grateful to my 8-5 job for is motivation!

Here is one of the gems I have learned and I'll even tell you what I have decided to do as a result of my research. All this for free, not even an ebook to download before midnight!

Tip 1: One way to make money online is as a Internet marketer. What every Internet marketer swears is their most valuable asset is their list. (A list is your database of email addresses of folks who have opted in to receive marketing email from you.) They use this to do affiliate marketing for other's products and they use it to build their own line of products and services. When you have a list, you suddenly are a valuable partner for others with products, etc. The email list building tool (called an autoresponder) that is most recommended to me is AWeber, so I'm recommending it to you. (And if you use that link with my 'recommendation' in it, I might get to go home from the fair with a big stuffed toy.) Add a quick form you can make at AWeber to any web page and let the opting in begin!

Those that know me will tell you that I am a person that totally despises fads... or anything that would be considered a fad!

Warning - Please do not take offense if one of these hit to close to home (it's not you, it's me) : Big twirling rims on cars (the kids call them dubs, I think, could be wrong) - pants the zip away their legs to become shorts -  ear bud (headsets) hanging out of your shirt like magnum pi's chest hair - chain link license plate frames - text messaging - here in southern USA we have the cheesy rubber shoes called clogs or crocks or something like that - those shoe/roller-skate hybrids kids use to missile themselves at you in Wal-Mart - pants with something written on the butt - trucker hats with mesh in the back - reality shows (hypocritical here a little as my wife and I are hooked on a few)... even some of the web fad stuff gets on my nerves, like funny movies of some big kid dancing to a French techno song... stuff like that.

But one fad that really started bothering me a few years ago is this blog craze. Everyone acting like an expert in just about everything. Also the “Look at me, look at me” factor kind of made me sick to my stomach.

So it is with deep regret that I am making my first attempt at starting a personal blog. But I want to layout a couple points before you read anything here.

First and most-importantly, I am an expert in what I will be talking about… and I say that in the most humble manner possible. I have much experience in making money online, and I have a lot of info that I don’t mind passing on to help you succeed in your attempt to work or make money from home.

Secondly, please know, I have a serious (self-diagnosed) case of Attention Deficit Disorder. LOL
So I am seriously hoping I can get a few readers soon that enjoy the blog. If not, this venture will die pretty quickly.

And lastly, I need you to know I am not full of crap. I will not tell you anything that I have no idea about. I will not mislead you. I will not try to make a bunch of money off you.

Oh yea, one more thing - I also need to tell you that I run a successful membership site called Super Apprentice (SA for short). This site helps folks like you create websites online to make money from. I only tell you this because there are a few tips and strategies I will not be able to make available to you… only because the members in SA have paid for the privilege to learn about the specific strategies we teach in SA. Once and a while I might cover a few SA-based techniques… as the value in being a member (when it comes to these tips) is that the software platform inside SA that automates whatever process I might mention.

Ok, so all that said, I am glad you are reading this… and I hope that you take away some valuable insight from this blog that will help you make money at home.
