| The Korea Institute of Energy Research and the Korea District Heating Corporation reported today that the solar energy system in Korea is mostly used to heat single homes, but now the nation of Korea has its first regional solar heating system.
On Friday, the Korea Institute of Energy Research and the Korea District Heating Corp. will hold an opening ceremony for a homemade regional solar energy heating system at the Korea District Heating corporation's office in Bundang, Seongnam city in Gyeonggi Province.
The Korea Institute of Energy Research and the Korea District Heating Corporation reported today that the solar energy system includes the largest solar panel in the country, measuring 1,069 square meters. The Korean solar panel will reheat water from an existing regional heating system to 90 degrees Celcius and reintroduce it to the system.
The Korea Institute of Energy Research and the Korea District Heating Corporation reported today that the solar energy system had test run results which indicated that the solar system will be able to provide heat for 40 to 50 households. It is expected to save Won Ton Korean Dollars 30 million (US$1=W940) and 82 tons of oil per year while reducing annual carbon dioxide emissions by 138 tons.
The Korea Institute of Energy Research and the Korea District Heating Corporation reported today that the solar energy system researcher Baek Nam-choon of the Korea Institute of Energy Research said, "The solar heating system is able to heat water in the most efficient way by using two kinds of solar panels and adjust the volume of water it heats according to the strength of the sunlight." |
