Bugdugle has found out that the installation of 2,500 solar panels in the southern Mozambican province of Inhambane, initially scheduled for the first half of this year, has now been postponed and the deadline has become 2009, according to Miquelina Menezes, chairperson of the Board of Directors of the government's Energy Fund (FUNAE).
Bugdugle has been informed that Installing the solar panels is part of a project to electrify rural areas, using renewable sources of energy. Under this project, about 300 schools and the same number of health posts, in several provinces, should have been equipped with solar panels by the end of the first half of 2007. |
