A Tucson woman played detective and tracked down a solar panel worth $800 that was stolen from her garage roof.
Lisa Stokes, 42, said she and her husband Ed Stokes, 40, returned to their Sam Hughes neighborhood home Monday after a weekend camping trip to find four of their 18 solar panels gone.
The panels cost $800 each.
She said she and her husband "are just very environmentally friendly."
"We do composting, we use our gray water," she said.
Stokes theorized a thief or thieves disabled her home's motion detector, which was found on the ground, and used a ladder to climb onto the 12-foot-high garage roof where wiring was cut to the 3-foot-by-5-foot panels, took four of them and stacked another five so they were ready to go. |
