The state Department of Corporations authorized the Roseville company (Nasdaq: SOPW) to sell franchises effective Nov. 21. The company announced the news Monday.

"This begins our process of deploying Yes! Solar Solutions franchises," said Jeff Winzeler, president of Solar Power's retail subsidiary, said in a press release.

The stores will target homeowners and small-business owners seeking rooftop solar power systems. The company opened its first Yes! Solar Solutions store in Roseville in October.
