Chandigarh (PTI): Haryana Renewable Energy department has taken new initiatives to popularise the use of solar water heating systems in the State, which included rebate in electricity bills for users of solar water heating system, 100 per cent financial assistance to install such system and subsidy to residents of Haryana and State Government employees to instal such systems.
Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Chander Mohan said here on Monday that as a promotional and demand side management measure, the State Government has decided to provide a rebate in the electricity bills to the users of solar water heating systems in the domestic sector at a rate of Rs. 100 per 100 litres Per Day (LPD) capacity solar water heating system per month upto 300 LPD capacity.
The rebate would be of Rs. 1200 annually for 100 LPD systems, Rs. 2400 for 200 LPD systems and Rs. 3600 for 300 LPD systems. This rebate would remain effective for a period of three years, he said.
He said that a new scheme has been introduced to provide 100 per cent financial assistance for installation of solar water heating system in non-profit registered social institutions like orphanages, old age homes, working women hostels, juvenile homes, nature care centres, creches, nari niketans, hostels for students belonging to Scheduled Castes and weaker sections of the society. The beneficiary institutes would have to deposit 10 per cent of the system cost towards maintenance of the systems. |
