Solar Electric System Basics by Suntrek Industries
Here’s how Solar Electric Systems Work
Suntrek Industries’s solar electric systems consist of an array of solar electric panels, aka solar collectors, a solar inverter and a computerized solid-state controller for your solar system. The Suntrek solar electric panels will generate Direct Current (DC) electricity directly from sunlight emanating from the Sun. The solar inverter coverts the Direct Current DC electricity produced by the panels to Alternating Current, aka, AC electricity. The solar computerized controller regulates the solar system and directs your extra power back to the electric utility grid. In applications where you are not connected to the electric grid or you want to have backup power, and batteries are required for this solar backup system.
What Size Suntrek Solar System Do You Need?
Suntrek Industries’ solar electric systems require approximately 100 sq. ft. of solar panel area to generate 1 kW of solar electricity. An average 2,500 sq. ft. single-family solar home uses about 5,000 kilowatt hours of solar electricity per year. A 3 kW (Alternating Current) solar system will generate nearly all of the solar electricity required for such a solar home on an annual basis. The Suntrek Industries’ solar panels used in our power systems have a 40 year solar design life, and come with a 25 solar year warranty.
