There are millions of people all over the country that instead of donating their old car just junk it, even if the car doesn’t run you can still donate it. I simply do not understand this. There are so many good charities that you can donate your car to for a good cause. Why not help a group of individuals if you can. It’s not hard to donate your car to any charity. All you need to do is contact the organization of your choice and they will arrange your car to be picked up by a towing company, and they will tow your car to the junk yard.
What do I get out of this?
This is a question that many people as, and it is a valid question. So what you get out of this is, the joy of helping needy families that have children, and two you can right off your donation for tax purposes. Doesn’t it sound kind of silly not to donate your car that has been sitting in your driveway for over a year now. And they offer free towing of your car.

For me since I have three children of my own it is of course helping children. It hurts me so much to see children in horrible situations, and if I can give at least one child something to look forward to in their lives then I will do whatever I can. By donating your car to this type of charity you can be giving a child many different things, such as family counseling, or helping their parents get the education that they need so they can better provide for them. You can help that needy child get the special attention that they need in order for them to graduate from high school.
And while you are helping a child you are also getting a nice tax right off as well. The organization will direct you to fill out the proper forms for the IRS, and this form should be Form 8283, which you can download directly from many charity websites but also from the IRS website.
