Crowd control and pedestrian control street furniture come in a wide range of types. While the tennsabarrier retractable tape style systems are very popular queue management systems the classic rope and post stanchion is still popular at theatres, hotels, events, museum stanchions,  and also for banking crowd control and shop queue systems.

When looking for crowd control rope and post systems there are two elements to consider. Firstly the stanchions or post itself and secondly the ropes that are hung between the stanchions.

Stanchions first. These need to be well engineered to stand up to the rigors of crowd or pedestrian control in daily use. We have chose stainless steel for our posts and bases to offer the very best durability. Our stanchions are made to last.  Stability is also a big issue. The stanchions need to be heavy enough to offer stability for the ropes as well as the possibility that they may get knocked into or leant on. Stanchions normally have a metal stanchion base cover under which there will be an additional weight. 

Ropes for portable traffic control come in two main types. Velour ropes are often seen in hotels and braided ropes are used for other applications. The length of rope tends to be between 1m and 1.5m. The long the rope the less poles you need but there is a limit due to the stability of the stanchion base. queuing stanchions are also sometimes used with plastic chain rather than rope, especially for outdoor use.

In addition to crowd control theses pedestrian barriers lend them self to supporting sign holders. The round finial onto of the post can often be removed to fit a detachable sign holder. Sign holders available are normally the acrylic sign holders or plastic sign holders.
