We have just invested in the latest HP large format ink jet printers. On thes surface these look similar to our existing HP large format printers. Under the skin they differ quite a bit. Like all new equipment do they live up to the hype?

Speed - while they don't reach the dizzying speeds claimed we are able to print at twice the speed of the HP 5000. We are hoping for an even greater improvemnt when medias change.

Running costs. Not sure exactly how much we are saving at the moment we need to have a look at the stats over a longer time period but it looks to be between 8 -15% in ink usage.

Pigment inks - Much easier to handle than the water based inks used previously. There have been some dring issues on material such as opal jet for use on banner stands and pop up booth drops. No problems with indoor paper posters or outdoor paper posters.
