A board pavement signs are a cost effective and flexible method for
advertising. Seen in many high streets
they come in a number of different formats. Although the original
boards tended to be made from wood and either
had a sign written message or blackboard finish to allow messages and
menus to be changed, A boards nowadays
tend to be made to display posters. This gives shops the flexibility
to quickly and cost effectivley change
their sales message. With the advent to large format digital printing
even single promotional posters are
cheap. There are two main methods of poster changing. The most common
is the snap shut frame. As the name suggests
the aluminimum frame snaps open on all four sides the poster is
inserted a protective plastic poster
cover is inserted then the sides are snapped shut again.
An alternative not seen as often is a magnetic closure system. This is
used on steel a boards. The clear plastic
cover used to protect the poster from weather will have a magnetic
strip on all sides. This simply attached to
the steel backboard giving a wether proof cover. A boards can easily
be folded and taken inside at night. The
disadvantage is that the are prone to fall over in a breeze. In this
situation an alternative is to look
