The Seattle Detention Center is known as FDC Sea-Tac

The Bureau of Prison's FDC Sea-Tac is a holding center that primarily confines pre-trial and holdover inmates. It is located about 12 miles south of Seattle and 16 miles north of Tacoma, just west of Interstate 5. It is different from a regular federal prison in that the detention center does not have a recreation yard, and few of the men confined there serve their full sentences in the institution. 

At FDC SeaTac, most of the inmates are proceeding through the court process. Because of that, inmates confined at the detention center will come from every classification. There will be people facing felony criminal indictments for white collar crimes like mail fraud, wire fraud, and tax evasion. Similarly, many will face charges for drug offenses, armed robbery, and murder. Every prisoner will mix with those confined to his housing unit.
