A review of Allenwood Prison in PAMichael Santos provides a description of Allenwood Prison in Allenwood, PA and what to expect when sentenced to prison at FCI Allenwood. Allenwood is a Federal Correctional Complex. That means several prisons of different security levels operate under the direction of a single warden and several associate wardens. The complex has been in operation since the early 1990s. That said, the prisons are relatively new as compared to other facilities in the Bureau of Prisons. In 1996, while Santos was in transit from one prison to another, he was transported on a bus that drove through FCC Allenwood. During this transit he saw the four separate prisons, each of which was classified as having a specific security level.
